About Us

Introduction
Northamptonshire Archaeology is a contracting service of Northamptonshire County Council, providing a full range of archaeological services on a commercial basis to the public, private and voluntary sectors.

Based on the south-west side of Northampton, the unit has excellent links to the national transport system and carries out work on a daily basis in much of the Midlands and Southern England, and beyond. For work further afield, teams are provided with local accommodation to ensure the provision of the most efficient service.

Northamptonshire Archaeology has a team of 20 permanent staff, with a wide range of complementary specialist skills. Many are acknowledged experts in their respective fields,

particularly in relation to the archaeology of the region. The core team is supplemented with temporary staff to meet specific client requirements.

Northamptonshire Archaeology is a Registered Archaeological Organisation with the IFA.
